News/UpdatesList item 3
Although the hall as been closed for long periods during the coronavirus pandemic - we've been really busy making improvements over the past 12 months- here's a snapshot:
- Our amazing cleaner has been working hard to keep the building spick and span. She's been doing lots of extra spring cleaning to ensure everywhere is clean and tidy for our hirers.
- We've installed Wifi.
- We've introduced a new online booking system for hall hire including a realtime availability timetable.
- We've installed a shiny commercial extractor fan and hood in the kitchen.
- A new heating system will be installed during the summer holidays. (2021) Work will include getting rid of the old oil tank and installing a brand new gas boiler for heating and hot water. We'll also be improving the insulation.
- A separate heating system will be installed in the main hall using electric air-conditioning units. This will allow users to change the temperature in the room depending on the activity. For example, cooler for dance classes but warmer for community lunches.
- We've cut back the trees in the car park and maintained the planting beds by the entrance.
- We've purchased disabled parking cones.
- We have re-branded with a new logo designed by villager Sophie Saunders - visit her website at www.saundersandjones.co.uk
- We have a new look website designed by Tom Hughes.
- We've reverted back to printing and delivering a hard copy the village magazine to all households so it's accessible to all.
- During the summer we'll also be looking at improving the acoustics in the main hall.
- We've received a number of grants from Herefordshire Council during Covid-19. These grants have made a real difference to our finances due to lack income from hirers.
